Show Setup – Time Lapse

We set up a camera and did a time lapse capture of setting up a show and all that’s involved.

From turning up at 8am to set up for a 10.30am start to show close at 4.30pm to leaving the building about two hours later – this film should give you a little insight into the effort involved in getting a stall set up from a blank space, to the show in full swing and back to empty again.

This film was taken at a Furniture Flea at York Hall Bethnal Green last year

A Beaulieu full weekend!

We are looking forward to two days fun trading at beautiful Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum and so much more.

We are there the weekend of 18th & 19th June in the Vintage Village selling our wares including record players, speakers, phones and homewares; there will also be lots more from other traders including ladies fashion & menswear, vintage jewellery, upcycled furniture, homewares and kitchenalia. Look out for Vintage luggage, maps, records and curiosities.

It will be a full weekend with two car events – the Simply Classics & Sports Car event on Saturday and the Hot Rod & Custom Drive on Sunday.  There will be a colourful display of hundreds of hot rods, custom & classic cars, the vintage village, plus live music and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Don’t forget Sunday is Fathers day and it a fab way to keep Dad happy!

So come down for a fun weekend, the fun starts at 10am both days and the weather is looking pretty good too!

Vintage Fun at the Fringe!

So excited to be coming to the Edinburgh Fringe this year – we are not performing (you’ll be pleased to hear) just showing and selling our fab wares at Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair.

Being held over the first weekend of the festival – 8th & 9th August – in the the uber cool ‘Out of the Blue & Drill Hall Arts Cafe‘, the fair is a great way to start the festival with a bang. The Drill Hall in Dalmeny Street was built as a military drill hall in 1901 and between 2003 and 2010 was redeveloped to become the vibrant arts centre it is today.

Along with us there will be over 30 amazing stalls featuring vintage clothes, homewares, furniture, lighting, record players and vinyl from 1920s to the 1980s! Should be a weekend packed with retro & vintage treasure.

The fair will be open 11am – 5pm, both days, Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th August. See our events listings for all details on the fair.

Check out the Fringe site to book shows after you have finished all your essential retro shopping!

Retro Bazaar has landed!

Welcome to Retro Bazaar’s first newsletter. This really is an excuse to say ‘Hi’ and tell you about our website which has now gone live.

The Website is Live!

Please pop in to have a look at the fun and funky retro on offer – www.retro-bazaar.co.uk. We are madly adding lots of items to the site to show you the breath of the stock we carry, but currently this is only a small percentage of what we have. We will be adding much more over the coming weeks.

If you are looking for something special and distinctive please ask, we may have it in stock already or we will try and locate it for you.

Shows

Thanks to all our customers who visited us at Alexandra Palace and Leamington Spa fairs in February, it was lovely to see you. On the website there is a list of all the shows we are attending so if you do want to buy online and collect we can accommodate you by bringing your purchase to the show.

Repair, Restoration & Conversions

All our retro stock is original, but where a bit of TLC is required we fix, fettle and cajole the items back into life. As well as fixing our own stock, we can carry out repairs, restoration and conversions on your cherished items. We specialise in Clocks, telephones and old audio equipment. Give us a ring or drop us a line if you have anything that’s needs some R&R at the retro hospital. We can’t always work miracles, but we will give it a good go.

Selling Your Retro

If you find it is now time to have a clear out, downsizing or you are undertaking a much needed colour scheme change we can take your unwanted retro and vintage items off your hands. See the ‘Selling’ page on the website for more details

Hopefully we have piqued your interest and enticed you to take a tour around the Bazaar.
